Power Hour

The below STRENGTH EVENTS are for ALL DIVISIONS:

The team will decide and number each of their athletes 1, 2, 3, or 4. They will be marked before the competition and may not change their number once their hour starts. The number will determine which athlete does their respective strength event.

Athlete 1: A1
Athlete 2: A2
Athlete 3: A3
Athlete 4: A4

STRENGTH EVENT 1:

A1 will complete a 7 Rep Front Squat (from rack)

A2 will complete a 7 Rep Backsquat (from rack)

The total weight of both lifts will be added together for the Strength Event 1 Score.
There is no time limit for this event. Movement Standards will be released by 12/27.


STRENGTH EVENT 2:

Any athlete will complete a 1 Rep Max Snatch

Any other athlete will complete a 1 Rep Max Clean and Jerk

The total weight of both lifts will be added together for the Strength Event 2 Score.
There is no time limit for this event. Movement Standards will be released by 12/27.


STRENGTH EVENT 3:

Any of the two athletes who did not complete Strength Event 2 will complete a 1 Rep Max Shoulder to Overhead (rack can be used)

Final remaining athlete will complete a 1 Rep Max Overhead Squat (rack can be used)

The total weight of both lifts will be added together for the Strength Event 3 Score.
There is no time limit for this event. Movement Standards will be released by 12/27.


STRENGTH EVENT 4:

A3 will complete a 7 Rep Deadlift

A4 will complete a 7 Rep Overhand Grip Deadlift (no hook grip allowed)

The total weight of both lifts will be added together for the Strength Event 4 Score.
There is no time limit for this event. Movement Standards will be released by 12/27.


STRENGTH EVENTS EQUIPMENT USED/RULES

Each team will have the following equipment available to them for the Strength Events:

  • 1 Barbell, gender specific (Males get male barbell and Females get female barbell)
  • 3 Pairs of 45’s
  • 2 Pairs of 25’s
  • 2 Pairs of 10’s
  • 1 Pair of 5’s
  • 1 Pair of 2.5’s
  • 2 Pairs of Collars
  • Rig/Rack set up with J-Cups so athletes can rack barbell
  • Chalk
  • 10 Feet Wide x 20 Feet Long Workout Space (This is for entire competition)

STRENGTH EVENTS RULES

  • Each event must be completed together
    • Athletes cannot complete one of the two lifts and then move on to another event. Both lifts in each event must be done before the team can move on to another event.
    • For example, in Strength Event 1, Athlete 1 will perform the 7RM Front Squat first and then Athlete 2 will perform the 7RM Back Squat  after in order for the event to be completed.
  • Teams may use their barbell and weights to warm up while another event is taking place as long as it is out of the way from the workout/judge taking place.
  • There is no time limit for these events. Athletes will tell the judge when they would like to finalize their score.
