Duality 2020 Kids Events

DESCRIPTION OF EVENT 1

On 3,2,1 Go, the athlete will perform 3 deadlifts then 3 Bar Jumps. They will then complete 6 reps of each, then 9 of each, and so on until time runs out.

The score is the total amount of reps completed in 5 minutes.

Bar Jumps require the athlete to jump off 2 feet over the barbell and land on the other side. They do not have to land on two feet. They must face forward when jumping.

Girls 5-7: 10lb Deadlift (Kids Oso Barbell)
Boys 5-7: 15lb Deadlift (Kids Oso Barbell)

Girls 8-9: 20lb Deadlift (Kids Oso Barbell)
Boys 8-9: 25lb Deadlift (Kids Oso Barbell)

Girls 10-12: 35lb Deadlift (Kids Oso Barbell)
Boys 10-12: 45lb Deadlift (Kids Oso Barbell)


DESCRIPTION OF EVENT 2

6 Minute Timecap

On 3,2,1, Go the athletes will pick up a single dumbbell and begin the movements with their left hand. Once they complete the 20 Thrusters, 15 Snatches, and 10 Clean to Overhead with their left hand, they will begin the same iteration with their right hand.

The score is the total time it takes to complete the workout. Any unfinished reps are added to time. For example, an athlete has 17 reps left when the timecap hits, their score will be 6:17.

Movement Standards

Single Arm Dumbbell Thruster

Holding the dumbbell with one hand resting on above the shoulder, the athlete will squat below parallel. At the end, the dumbbell will be held overhead with elbows locked out. Hips and knees will be locked out with feet underneath the hips, in line.

A clean to thruster is permissible for any movement where the dumbbell begins on the ground.

Single Arm Dumbbell Snatch

The dumbbell will begin on the ground. In one continuous motion, the dumbbell will be brought overhead without touching the body. At the end, the dumbbell will be held overhead with elbows locked out. Hips and knees will be locked out with feet underneath the hips, in line.

Single Arm Dumbbell Clean to Overhead

The dumbbell will begin on the ground. The athlete will bring the dumbbell to the clean position with the dumbbell at the front rack on or above the shoulder. Feet will be in line, underneath hips. The athlete will then press the dumbbell overhead in any manner.

At the end, the dumbbell will be held overhead with elbows locked out. Hips and knees will be locked out with feet underneath the hips, in line.
