Trinity Competitions is proud and humbled to announce that we are in the process of establishing the Trinity Foundation, soon to be a non-profit that will exist to serve global charities and to give directly back to people in our community who are in need of financial assistance.
The Trinity Foundation will work by having Affiliate/Box owners send an application in for current members who have fallen on hard times financially for a variety of reasons out of their control. Reasons such as losing a job, family illness, car accident, or health procedures are common occurrences and can cause people to quit the gym or not have enough money to keep working out.
We want to be there not only for the athlete but for the gym owner. We know that gym owners often give away memberships to their members and this can sometimes cause financial hardship for the Affiliate Owner as well. We know first hand of how positive and impactful it is to keep going to a CrossFit gym, especially as someone is going through a hard time. Our goal is to keep members who truly need their CrossFit community during difficult times active and in the gym regardless of their temporary financial circumstances.
The Trinity Foundation will pay the gym memberships for the athlete for a period of time, dependent on the need. The athlete must still attend the gym on a regular basis in order for the gym to receive money from the Foundation. The times will range from 1 to 6 months, but are of course subject to fund availability.
Over the next 2-3 years, we hope to give away $30,000-$50,000 per year but we are trusting that God will provide more direction and the funds to help as many people as possible.
Through donations from the community, corporate sponsors, and even outside our CrossFit community, we pray that we reach our goal in order to impact our local community in a positive way as well as donate to global charities.
More information will be shared in the upcoming weeks and months. Once we establish the foundation and have funds to give, we will begin the application process. This most likely will be in the late summer/fall of 2017.
